Busking is the practice of performing in public places for tips and gratuities.
People engaging in this practice are called buskers or street performers.
Buskers is a one-hour hosted series that goes around the world, past the boardwalks and cityscapes to find out who these people are and what motivates them to live out their lives on the streets of the world. Their acts can astound even the most cynical: gymnasts flying over dozens of bodies with a skill level that is worthy of the Olympics; musicians who might be a top-ten artist if they had the right break; magicians that can perform spontaneous magic acts on the fly with no special lighting, curtains or tricks to hide behind.
All wear their craft on their sleeve in the most public of ways. But what happens when they go home? What do they come home to? And who might make that jump from street to fame?
Buskers will not only show us the amazing work of these street performers, it will also take us into their lives, show us why they’re willing to spend 18 hour days in brutal weather to perform, and let us experience how differently they live, in order to follow their dreams.
